Description: A Very Old Spanish Earthenware Vessel, Likely 18th c. Signed on the base, "SA"This gorgeous blue Majolica pitcher shimmers invitingly like the Mediterranean! This likely 18th/19th c. 7-inch hand-painted pitcher features fantastical, summery designs of flowers and vines! This beautifully proportioned pitcher is made from white earthenware with a heavy overglaze.This piece is likely a Spanish earthenware piece from the 18th or 19th Centuries. It is signed by the artist on the base, whose initials appear to be “AS”. This is a fine example of an old and attractive piece of Spanish faience. Condition:This pitcher is in VERY GOOD condition! There are several chips and fills to the rim of the vessel. The handle has been repaired in two places with over paint to blend the repair. The repair is not overly gaudy. There are hairlines throughout, especially at the top. A very presentable, old piece that can bring a breath of Mediterranean air to any corner of your house!
