Description: This amazing Chatelaine was made in the 1800s. It is hallmarked and signed and was designed for a man. It is nothing short of amazing! The actual chatelaine comprises an intricate design of swirling and incorporated snakes!! It looks almost Celtic! The long hand-made chains hold a plethora of sterling items: files, match safe, coin purse, actual purse, compact, pocket watch holder, manicure pieces, knife, toothpick holder, pen, etc. Totally phenomenal!!!!! The pieces measure as follows: top chatelaine of snakes: 2" by 2.5"; Round file and knife: 1.5" by 1.5"; match safe: 1.5" by 1.1"; compact: 2.25" by 2"; pen: 3.5" by .25"; coin purse: 2" by 3"; pocket watch holder: 1.75" by .25" deep, etc. The chains measure from 8.5" to 12.5".
