Description: The Great Gatsbyby F. Scott Fitzgerald First edition, second printing Publisher and Year: New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1925-Edition: First edition, second printing (textual errors corrected).-Condition and Description: Publisher's original dark green cloth, title in blind on the front board, lettered in gilt on the spine, 7.5" x 5.5", 218 pp. The boards are rubbed and stained. Tips pushed. The gilt on the spine is entirely dulled and the lettering is hardly legible. The front hinge has been reinforced with binder's tape. The joint at the title page is cracking, but it remains well-attached (closeups provided at the end of the pictures). The rear hinge is sturdy and discreetly reinforced, with a hint of separation at the gutter paper (see closeups). Internally, the binding is sound. Previous owner's name in ink on the front flyleaf; else free and clear of writing and underlining. The pages are lightly tanned, but clean, with occasional imperfections. A complete but flawed copy of Fitzgerald's classic novel.-“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby-Inventory ID: 044 - 514 - 434
