Description: Unique Vintage Antique Old Guatemalan Hand Woven Embroidered Apron Over Skirt • I purchased this at a Santa Fe estate sale of an elderly woman who had passed away. She had traveled all over and collected vintage textiles and clothing. • I must say that I have looked at hundreds of Guatemalan textiles over the many years, and this looks the oldest of all that I’ve seen, and the most unique. I am quite sure it is very collectible. • Woven of cotton and has lovely embroidered flowers. • I cannot ascertain for sure there are natural dyes. •The blue braided trim edged slit on the right side opens into a long deep pocket. The fifth from the last photo is of the back of the apron, and shows how deep the pocket is. •The waist has beautiful braiding and a tie at each end. •27 inches long • The last four photos show that there are a few small breaks in the threads. These could be very easily mended, and you would definitely have a rare and valuable piece!
