Description: DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 1880’S TWO PIECE IN CONSTRUCTION FASHIONED OF COLORFUL RED AND LIGHT BLUE COTTON WITH TAN COTTON TOPPING THE SKIRT. TRIANGLES OF BLACK COTTON VELVET WITH GOLD METAL SPANGLE SEQUINS TRIMS EACH SIDE OF THE TOP, THE REAR NECKLINE, THE REAR POINTS OF THE BUSTLE TAIL, AS WELL AS THE POINTS IN THE FRONT WITH HOOK AND EYES CLOSING THE FRONT. METAL BELLS TRIM ALL THE POINTS OF THE VELVET. THE SLEEVES ARE FINISHED IN THE VELVET POINTS, A COSTUME GRADE LAME BRAID EDGING AND BELLS. THE INTERIOR IS LINED IN COTTON. THE SKIRT HAS A RED BUSTLE IN THE REAR THAT IS EDGED IN THE GOLD LAME WITH THE SKIRT IN THE BLUE COTTON WITH GOLD LAME EDGING AND BELLS ON EACH TIP WITH THE BOTTOM IN SEQUINED VELVET TRIANGLES ATOP THE RED BOTTOM HEM WITH DANGLING BELLS FROM THE GOLD LAME BRAID EDGED TIPS OF THE BLUE. CONDITION: THE REAR WAISTBAND OF THE SKIRT IS HEAVILY FRAYED AND A REPAIR IS NEEDED. THERE ARE SCATTERED HOLES TO THE TAN CENTER FRONT SKIRTING THAT I PERSONALLY WOULD COVER IN ADDITIONAL TRIMS. A SMALL AMOUNT OF FADE IS SEEN TO THE BLUE TOP LAYER IN SOME SMALL POINTS BUT DOES NOT DETRACT. SOME OF THE RIBBONS NEED TO BE RETACKED TO THE TAN. SOME SEQUINS ARE DROPPING WITH SOME SEQUINS ABSENCE ON THE SHOULDERS OF THE BODICE. A VERY FAINT RING OF UNDERARM COLOR IS BENEATH THE ARMS, COMPLETELY UNNOTED WHEN WORN OR DISPLAYED.
