However, in the summer of 2000, sculptor Clay Moore had a brainstorm. To thank the fans for their patience, he wanted to offer a special variant that went beyond a repaint or an added accessory. After seeing her series of Vampirella photo covers, Moore had his idea — a Julie Strain as Vampirella variant! Moore already had experience sculpting Julie's likeness for the FAKK2 series, and he knew an exclusive Julie Strain variant would drive the fans bonkers.
