Description: For consideration, is this gorgeous CINCINNATI OHIO high Eagle helmet from Marion hook & ladder 7. This is a VOLUNTEER ERA helmet in original untouched condition. The helmet and frontpiece are extremely early and very fragile. Along the way, someone put a little glue towards the top of the frontpiece to keep it together, and to help prevent it from breaking off. The maker of the hat and frontpiece is Cairns. The hallmark is intact and quite legible on the backside of the frontpiece . Included is a copy of a newspaper article dated 1890. Highlighted are two members that were present from Marion 7 at a banquet for the old volunteers of the city. The helmet will be packaged very carefully and shipped for free to the winning bidder.
