Description: Hi there, I am with a heavy heart letting my gorgeous Gibson ES-355 go. I got this guitar earlier this year after many years of dreaming of a Walnut finished ES guitar. Little did I know I was gonna have go through a divorce, which I now am. This guitar has, more or less, all original parts. I'll break it down below. Original: Patent Sticker T Top Pickups Pots and knobs Capacitors Bridge (original comes with the guitar, late 60s/early 70s replacement on there right now) Tuners Finish Varitone and all it's components Non Original: Frets (I had it professionally refretted by Eric's Guitar Shop in Van Nuys) Nut (new nut installed by Eric as well) Bigsby B7 with Vibramate (no new holes drilled) Mono-input jack so you don’t need a stereo cable. Original stereo input jack will come in case. Missing the original pickguard Regarding the Bigsby B7 - The guitar came to me without the Lyre Vibrola installed. It had a normal tailpiece installed, which looks to be a late 60s or early 70s tailpiece (along with the studs etc). My guess is that a past owner didn't like the Vibrola arm and wanted to just have something more stable. When I got the guitar I decided I wanted to have a Bigsby B7 on there, so I installed one with the Vibramate to avoid adding holes to the top. It's important to note that there are holes in the top, from where the Vibrola would've been installed at one point. Other than that, the only issues (for some people) is that the guitar looks like it's gone through a war with all the finish cracks and wear in the finish. The guitar has been played extensively by the past owner(s), to the point where a LOT of the finish on the back of the neck has been worn off. I think this guitar has also seen a lot of smokey bars and venues, as the binding has a lot of darkened areas. However, there are no cracks really in the binding as of yet. To be honest, all the wear was a big part of what made me fall in love with this guitar. If there’s anything else, please reach out to ask me whatever you want. The Varitone makes this guitar incredibly versatile, you can get this to sound like a Gibson, a Strat, get into Gretsch territory, and then other sonic areas. The middle position is out of phase, which gets you that BB King “Live at the Regal”, and Peter Green’s “Greeny” tone. This is honestly a fantastic guitar, and even with the Varitone and Bigsby B7 only weights in at 8lbs and 14oz. Comes in it’s original purple lining hard case. $6500 or best offer. Only trade I'm interested in, is a car at a similar value with under 120 000 miles. No gear trades, thank you.
