Description: This is a very rare set of 6 Vintage 1960's Mid-Century Modern Plaisirs D'Amour Highball Glasses. These Guild Playing Card Glasses are designed by Paul-Emile Becat. The set of six French Playing Card glasses are milk glass printed with gold transfers. The original artwork for these glasses were painted by the French artist Paul-Emile Becat (1885 - 1960) and are known as "Le Florentin". He took four years to paint this beautiful Italian renaissance inspired erotic deck of cards and in 1955 they were published as limited edition. The designs were used in glass trays and in drinking glasses.There are two designs in this set. One glass is Ace of Spades: "The Poisoners" and five glasses are the Jack of Diamonds.
