There is no binding on this quilt. The back of the quilt is the same color and material as the front background. The quilt has a nice medium weight feel to it. This vintage quilt is in good condition. The printed fabrics are still vibrant in color. There are no holes, tears or fabric repairs that i can see. I purchase this quilt at an estate sale. I did not wash it. There is yellowing on the edges from age more on the top edge. I have never tried this product, but read this from a quilt collectors blog: "Its called Retro Clean, and it isfantastic! You can use this in your washing machine, and it is very gentle on the quilt fibers. It will not break down the quilt fibers. It rinses out all of the yellowing from age and it comes out smelling very fresh. This is the perfect way to get an old quilt back to looking like it was intended."
