Description: For sale is a vintage Conn alto sax. I believe this instrument was made in the year 1970, as it's serial is N131xxx. This saxophone has some... issues. It looks like someone started to strip it down. It is missing all of the MOP inlays on the keys and most of the pads. Two keyguards are missing (see photos). I also noted a bad "band director repair" where a Philips head wood screw was used in place of a machine screw. That can be seen in the last photo. There appears to be many large areas of fine scratching where the lacquer is just gone-- It appears someone tried to remove the finish using steel wool. My thought, judging by the missing parts and inlay is that someone might have tried to go the "raw brass" route and started to take off parts for a chemical bath but never finished for whatever reason. I would say this is one for either a restoration project or just a source of parts for the repair of another one. It does include it's original neck and a Conn branded mouthpiece. No case included. This would be a great addition to your shop or collection!
