Description: ~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ ~*~ This stunning textile is European , homespun linen mattress cover dating c1930. One of my very favorites!! ~*~*~ This wonderful textile would have been used as a mattress pad and stuffed with straw or fodder. The antique European bedding system would have had a few of these stuffed with straw of fodder and then the top layer would have been made from a densely woven cotton and stuffed with feathers. This wonderful textile is made from hand woven linen and cotton mix, with a gorgeous Twill weave. To construct this textile, the hand woven fabric was hand stitched down the middle. The sides are hand stitched also and the top is open one one side! ~*~ *~ ~ ~ Gorgeous stripe pattern of a deep natural beige and blue stripes!! ~ ~The tone of the ground is a beautiful pale tone ~ a LOVELY textile weighing 4 pounds and 12 ounces! These textiles are wonderful filled with feather comforter and kept at the base of the bed to be pulled up on chilly nights. Also lovely for making lounging pads, daybed mattress covers and the fabric is gorgeous for upholstery projects. ~ ( COVER H64 ) MEASUREMENTS : This mattress cover measures approximately 69 inches long by 39 inches wide ~*~ but of course it is either twice as long or twice as wide, depending on how it is opened out if being used for fabric~*~ CONDITION: I've freshly laundered and line dried this gorgeous textile! ~ Lovely condition indeed!!! This gorgeous textile can be machine washed on warm and tumbled dry ~ I like to add fabric softener to give a lovely soft hand! ~*~
