Description: Vintage Hand Sewn & Stitched Blended Quilt Old Blocks with added Border I’m a truly not sure what you are looking at. There are 20 beautifully hand pieced and hand top quilted blocks made of vintage and assorted other fabrics (some feedsack). The stitching on these blocks is something to see….be sure to zoom in closer. Then, you have a wider sashing between the blocks which feels like a cotton fabric although I am not sure. There is also some nice patterned stitched on the dashing, sewn in a colored thread. It looks like that this was a quilt by itself at one time. The top and bottom of this main section appears to be complete. Someone came along and Must have wanted a bigger quilt, so they added some large flying geese along two sides. It looks like they tried to add polyester batting to just those flying geese sections, and then decided not to finish the project. It looks like they just sewed the strips of flying geese directly to the finished edge of the original quilt. The back does shown some discoloration. I cannot tell what it is from…it does not look like a stain but it also does not look like fading. The quilt has no strong odor (other than for its age), and other than that, it seems to be in clean condition. Regardless of this hot mess, the vintage blocks are worth saving as the fabric used is really something! I’m hoping someone will know what to do and restore this quilt.
