Description: "Nerves In Order or The Maintenance Of Health," was authored by Alfred T. Schofield and published in 1908 by Funk and Wagnalls Company. The book is focused on the health and ill health of the whole body and mind. In the introduction, the author indicates the book was written as a companion piece to his earlier work, "Nerves in Disorder," so that "the science of prevention may be placed on the same footing as that of the cure." The author's contribution to the understanding of the health of the whole mind and body was intended to help the reader "avoid needless disease, and enable them to keep in the path of health." Schofield dedicated the book to the National Health Institute" as a tribute to its noble work in the cause of hygiene." The book is in fair to good condition. The hard cloth cover has a small stain on the front and on bottom edge of the back. The binding is tight but there is a tear at the front and back hinges with some netting showing. All pages are tight except the first 2 after the front hinge are loose at the very bottom. The page immediately after the front hinge is torn in half: One half is attached and the other is loose. The pages are very tan from age. There are a few pencil marks, mostly in the margins on the pages in the first chapter. There is a small, maroon sticker on the bottom, inside corner of the back cover from "Brentano's Booksellers & Stationers, New York" The book measures 5" X 7 3/8" and is 1 1/4" tall.
