Description: This vintage Pittsburg Pottery Company 3 Gallon Butter Churn Diamond Brand Stoneware crock, lid, and wooden churn stick is a rare find for collectors of Americana. The grayish beige crock has a cobalt blue label and was made by The Pittsburg Pottery Company which was in business at 2801 N. Broadway in Pittsburg, Kansas, from 1913 to 1939. This churn is in very good condition for its age. It is 13 inches tall and 10 inches in diameter at its widest point. The churn stick is 38 1/4 inches high and the paddles are 6 inches wide. The crock has several chips around the inside of the top opening and the lid also has a chip. There is also a 3-inch vertical crack visible on the inside of the crock, but not visible on the outside. The churn stick rod has some black-marked indentations toward the top. Please see photos. Due to its awkward size and weight, the churn stick and the crock with lid will be shipped in 2 separate boxes.
