This mechanical toy was made in Germany by Steiff during the US Zone period from approximately 1947 to 1952. This chimp is in near mint condition! He retains all of his dark reddish brown medium length mohair and the silvery white mohair on his chin. His felt face, ears, hands and feet are without damage or wear. The airbrushed accents on his face, ears and hands are nice and bright.His hands and feet are stitched to the painted metal chassis. Details include orange amber glass eyes with black pupils, black and red airbrushed design on ears, black airbrushed finger tips. Jocko is hard stuffed with excelsior wood shavings retains his original Steiff raised script button in his left ear and his "Made in US-Zone Germany" printed flag tag sewn in the seam of his right arm.
