Description: Cosmetically, this is a very nice example of the ratherobscure Aiwa recorder. This is a Japanese-made reel to reel Dictaphone that waspopularized through media such as “Mission Impossible.” There are a few paintchips and scuffs on the back that have been covered over by the previous owner. It comeswith the original lid with no cracks in the viewing window, and the originalfabric carrying case. The machine had significant damage from leaky batteries, butthe battery bay has been rebuilt with new wiring. A few minor adjustments weremade, but otherwise the machine is largely original. It plays and records, butsounds rather awful. Very awful actually, but that’s what you get from cheaprim-drive tape recorders. These are very seldom in working condition, so it’squite a special piece if you enjoy collecting useless devices. Power rewind also works.
