The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Michael Turnhofer Michael was a Sergeant in an Artillery Replacement unit and is pictured wearing his dress tunic with his marksmanship lanyard and long service medal in a parade mount.
